- The DEXTER MK-2 is an octave that allows polyphonic sound transposition to the upper and lower octaves. Both octaves can be freely mixed with the instrument signal, using only the upper or lower octaves and both octaves simultaneously.
KEY FEATURES
- Transpose to the upper or lower octave
- possibility to mix both octaves simultaneously
- TRUE BYPASS
- Autodetection of voltage polarization
The Dexter is a polyphonic octaver that allows transposing an original note of one octave up and down. Both octaves can be used separately, mixed together as well as mixed with the original notes.
The 24-bit high-quality DSP is responsible for the polyphony of the effect. Each octave is controlled by two potentiometers: Level & Range. Thanks to them, unwanted tones that sometimes occur in octaves can be eliminated e.g. blurred clarity of sound or extensively altered sound of the instrument.
In practice, it turns out that broadband signal processing by OCTAVER in certain situations may be unwanted. The bandwidth range potentiometers give great precision, flexibility, and freedom in shaping the sound of the instrument.
DC assistant - protection against signal loss. If disconnected or the voltage is lower than 6V the effect is automatically switched to the "bypass" mode
Polarity Auto Detection - allows using either center-positive or negative polarity on the power supply
TRUE BYPASS - in OFF mode your instrument’s original signal goes through, bypasses all electronic components
CONTROL:
LEVEL (-) adjustment of the lower octave signal level
LEVEL (+) adjustment of the upper octave signal level
DRY LEVEL adjustment of the base signal level
RANGE (-) adjustment of the range of the lower octave. In the MAX position, the lower octave operates over the entire bandwidth and responds to the entire sound scale. In the MIN position, the lowest bandwidth is limited, making the lower octave less effective in responding to the scale of sounds at the lowest position. This eliminates the lowest band of sound, which is unreadable and blurs the sound from the instrument when playing in the low registers, leaving only aliquots that are more desirable.
RANGE (+) adjusts the range of the upper octave. In the MAX position, the upper octave operates over the entire bandwidth and responds to the entire scale of sound. In the MIN position, the highest bandwidth for the upper octave is limited, i.e. the processing of the scale of sounds by the octaver located highest. In this way, very high tones can be eliminated, which, when processed in the upper octave for certain instruments, can sound too high giving them an artificial character.
